2-Day RDS / Optic Pistol Instructor Development Course
Optic / RDS Instructor is an advanced-level training course tailored to firearms instructors & individuals who possess a solid foundation in pistol skills and seek to enhance their expertise with instructing and using an Optic / RDS equipped pistol.
This course focuses on transferring knowledge to our students in the methodology and mechanics of becoming a skilled Optic / RDS Instructor, proficient in teaching the fundamentals of utilizing an Optic / RDS on a pistol. Upon successful completion we also provide support information and templates for implementing an Optic / RDS program for your agency, mounting, armoring, tool selection and SOP development.
Topics covered: Techniques for zeroing your Optic / RDS, alternate aiming and downed optic options. You will learn fast & efficient draw and presentation techniques to find the dot and make pinpoint accurate shots. You will learn how to provide diagnostics on yourself as well as those you train to enhance overall performance, increase accuracy and consistency which in turn decreases overall liability on the instructor, shooter, agency or company.
Required equipment.
- OWB (Outside the waistband) or IWB (Inside) or AIWB (appendix) Holster
- Duty rig or reliable EDC belt
- At least 3 magazines
- Reliable Pistol with an Optic/RDS
- 700 (minimum) -1000 rounds of ammunition
- Ear & Eye Protection
- Sharpie Marker
- Appropriate Clothing for Range
- Note Taking Gear
- Shot/PAR timer if available
- A Positive attitude
