1-Day Rifle fundamentals
This class focuses on refinement of the fundamentals of marksmanship and has a heavy focus on economy of motion when performing the fundamentals for increased performance on demand capabilities, which in turn helps mitigate liability on the shooter and agency.
We diagnose your mechanics and show you ways to improve your performance abilities for future training. This course will push you outside your comfort level to help build speed and accuracy with efficient weapon system manipulation. This course will teach you the steps and provide you with the knowledge necessary to build a more confident shooter.
Course covers:
– Kit selection and equipment placement
– rifle presentation techniques
– carry positions & movement with a rifle
– sling options & use to improve engagement platform
– mechanical offsets with optics and iron sights
– common rifle malfunctions & how to clear them
– reloading techniques and transitions
– strong and support side shooting utilizing cover
– proper use of cover vs concealment
– target areas
– ballistics- internal, external & terminal
– alternate shooting positions & platforms
– shooting on the move vs static engagement
– multiple target engagement techniques
– distance shooting techniques
– take home drills to improve performance
– Patrol ready conditions and considerations
Gear requirements
Rifle with sling & Optic or Iron sights with at least 3 magazines
Pistol with duty or equivalent holster & at least 3 magazines
Magazine holders for rifle & pistol magazines
500 rounds of rifle ammo recommended minimum
50 rounds of pistol ammo recommended minimum
Eye & ear protection and appropriate range attire.
On duty gear is recommended to train as you would fight.
